  • Negombo – Negombo Beach

    Anuradhapura – Ruins of Anuradhapura, the colossal Abhayagiri Stupa, Jetawanarama Stupa – the tallest stupa on earth and Ruwanmeli Stupa, Samadhi Buddha Statue as well as the Ruins of ancient royal palaces and museums.

    Ruins of Polonnaruwa / Habarana – Visit the museum, the Royal Palace, Quadrangle, Lankatilaka, Tivanka Image house and Kiri Vihara.

    Sigiriya Rock – Visit a batik workshop in Sigiriya. The word ‘batik’ comes from Java, Indonesia and means ‘printing in wax’

    Kandy – Cave Temple in Dambulla, Temple of the Holy Tooth Relic, Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala, Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, Hill Country Nuwara Eliya.

    Nuwara Eliya – Visit the Golf Course (one of the finest 18 holes Golf courses in Asia), the Hill club and drive around the man-made Lake Gregory.

    Adam’s Peak – Ascending the mountain begins at 02:00 a.m. Adam’s peak is 2,243 m in height. It is revered as a holy site by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians. Yala: Jeep Safari in the Yala National Park, Lighthouse in Dondra-Head.

    Unawatuna Beach – The day of leisure on the beach.

    Colombo – Visit the “Fort” and Pettah, the Town hall, the Independence Square, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit the Gangarama Buddhist temple and a Hindu Kovil to experience the diversity of religion, ethnicity and customs of the people.


  • Day 01: Negombo
    Drive: Approximately 20 mins (15 km)
    Arrive at the Bandaranaike International airport in Katunayake. You will be met and assisted on arrival by Ceylon Tours airport staff and transferred to Negombo. Check-in to Goldi Sands Hotel in Negombo. Relax and recover from any jet lag. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 2: Anuradhapura
    Drive: Approximately 4½ hours (170 km)
    After breakfast check out of the hotel. Proceed to Anuradhapura. Check in to your hotel upon arrival. After a short break, visit the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura It has the largest number of ancient monuments of the great Sinhala civilization which flourished in this region. You will see the colossal Abhayagiri Stupa, Jetawanarama Stupa – the tallest stupa on earth and Ruwanmeli Stupa, Samadhi Buddha Statue as well as the Ruins of ancient royal palaces and museums. Another amazing site would be the ‘Sri Maha Bodhi’ or the sacred Bo tree grown from a branch of the very tree under which “The Buddha” attained enlightenment – the oldest historically documented tree in the world – over 2200 years old. Return to the hotel in Anuradhapura.

    Day 03: Ruins of Polonnaruwa
    Drive: Approximately 2½ hours (101 km)
    After breakfast check out of the hotel and leave for Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Ceylon during 11th – 13th centuries – a UNESCO World Heritage Site now. A well-planned medieval city defended by enclosing walls (around 5 km. which still remain), graced by palaces, shrines, monasteries, pavilions, parks, ponds and irrigation lakes. Polonnaruwa is strewn with ruins in a resplendent state of preservation. Visit the museum, the Royal Palace, Quadrangle, Lankatilaka, Tivanka Image house and Kiri Vihara. The ‘Gal Vihara’ which consists of statues of the recumbent, standing and seated Buddhas have been cut from a single granite wall and rank among the true masterpieces of Sri Lankan Art.
    Destination: Habarana Drive: Approximately 1 hour (43 km) Transfer to Habarana. Check in to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 04: Sigiriya Rock
    Drive: Approximately ½ hour (24km)
    After breakfast climb the rock fortress of Sigiriya – a 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky”. Also called the lion rock (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Sigiriya had been a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The base of the rock is ringed by a moat and rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens. See the famous frescoes of the “Heavenly maidens” of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock and the 10 foot high Mirror Wall. Upon completion, visit a batik workshop in Sigiriya. The word ‘batik’ comes from Java, Indonesia and means ‘printing in wax’. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original color. This process of waxing and dyeing can be repeated to create more elaborate and colorful designs. After the final dyeing the wax is removed and the cloth is ready. Sri Lankan batik industry has a history of over 400 years. History reveals that batik was introduced by Portuguese merchants who visited the country for trade activities. Return to the hotel in Habarana. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 05: Dambulla
    After breakfast check out of the hotel. Explore the famous Golden Rock Cave Temple in Dambulla which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This cave monastery, a vast isolated rock mass with its five caverns is the largest best preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings are of particular importance as are the 157 statues including a 47 foot long statue of the recumbent Buddha.
    Destination: Kandy
    Drive: Approximately 3 hours (77 km)
    Head on to the bustling hill capital of Kandy. En route, visit the Spice gardens in Matale. Check in to your hotel on arrival in Kandy. Kandy, the bustling hill country capital is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for the Temple of the Tooth which houses the most sacred religious relic, the tooth of the Buddha and the Kandy Lake built in 1807 which is an attractive centerpiece to the town and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.
    Destination: City Tour in Kandy:
    After a short break, commence a city tour: take an upper-lake drive to the top of the hill where a bird’s eye view opens of the city below and the man-made Kandy Lake known as the KiriMuhuda or the Milky Ocean and visit the gem museum. At 17:30 enjoy a Kandyan Cultural show at the Kandyan Arts & Cultural Centre. The show features the graceful and rhythmic dancers and drummers culminating in an impressive fire walking display.

    Day 06: Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala
    Drive: Approximately 1½ hours (54 km)
    After breakfast leave for Pinnawala. Visit the Elephant orphanage. This orphanage was set up by the government to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild. Witness the feeding of the elephants. Thereafter observe them as they take their daily bath in the river nearby. Daily feeding times – 9.15 am, 1.15 pm, and 5.00 pm. bathing times – 10.00 am, 2.00 pm, and 4.00 pm.
    Destination: Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya
    Drive:: Approximately 15 mins (06 km)
    Thereafter visit the sacred Temple of Tooth Relic, also called as DaladáMáligáwa. Monks of the two chapters of Malwatte and Asgiriya conduct daily worship in the inner chamber of the temple. Rituals are performed three times daily: at dawn, at noon and in the evenings. On Wednesdays there is a symbolic bathing of the Sacred Relic with an herbal preparation made from scented water and fragrant flowers. This holy water is believed to contain healing powers and is distributed among those present.

    Day 07: Nuwara Eliya
    Drive: Approximately 3 hours (77 km)
    After breakfast check out of the hotel. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route, visit a tea plantation and a tea factory. The beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya, set in the heart of Tea country and situated 1890 meters above sea level, On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, commence a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Golf Course (one of the finest 18 holes Golf courses in Asia), the Hill club and drive around the man-made Lake Gregory.

    Day 08: Adam’s Peak
    Drive: Approximately 1½ hours (74 km)
    After breakfast spend the first half of the day at leisure. At noon check out of the hotel. Transfer to Adam’s Peak. On arrival, check in to the Punsisi Rest guesthouse. It is recommended to have a good sleep before the ascent.

    Day 09: Adam’s Peak
    Ascending the mountain begins at 02:00 a.m. Adam’s peak is 2,243 m in height. It is revered as a holy site by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians. For Buddhists, the footprint mark is the left foot of the Buddha left behind when He visited Sri Lanka. Tamil Hindus consider it as the footprint of Lord Shiva. Muslims – as the biblical Adam’s and the Christians in Sri Lanka ascribe it to St Thomas. It is an important pilgrimage site, especially for Buddhists. Pilgrims walk up the mountain, following a variety of difficult routes up thousands of steps. The journey takes several hours at least. At the top of the mountain, when the sun rises, the distinctive shape of the mountain casts a triangular shadow on the surrounding plain and can be seen to move quickly downward as the sun rises. Climbing at night can be a remarkable experience, with the lights of the path leading up and into the stars overhead. There are rest stops along the way. At sunrise, start descent. Return to the hotel by around 09:00 am. After breakfast relax till noon and check-out of the hotel.

    Drive: Approximately 4½ hours (205 km)
    Transfer to Yala. Check in to the hotel on arrival.

    Day 10: Jeep Safari in the Yala National Park
    After an early breakfast commence a jeep safari in the National Park by private jeep accompanied by a tracker. Yala National park one of Sri Lanka’s premier eco tourist Destinations and is renowned for its variety of wildlife notably its many elephants. It is also home to the spotted deer, sambar, wild buffalo, sloth bear, jackal, mongoose and crocodiles. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds in this park. Yala has a high concentration of Leopards although seeing these nocturnal carnivores still requires some luck. Return to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 11: : Lighthouse in «Dondra Head
    Drive: Approximately 3½ hours (146 km)
    After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and leave for Dondra-Head, well famous for the Lighthouse. Dondra Head is the southernmost point of Sri Lanka as well as the Indian sub-continent. The 160 feet high lighthouse is located in a beautiful garden and is considered the highest lighthouse in Asia. It is 161 feet in height and contains 7 floors, 14 two-panel yellow color windows and 196 steps to the top. The lighthouse is still active and helps guide ships and boats which sail on the Indian Ocean. Over 250 ships are said to pass this area daily. Although they have GPS, most of them use the signals beamed by the lighthouse. It also transmits radio wave signals to surrounding lighthouses in Sri Lanka. Between the Dondra Head Lighthouse and Antarctica lies no land but 20,000 km of empty ocean.
    Unawatuna Beach
    Drive: Approximately 1 hour (45 km)
    Proceed to Unawatuna, delightfully located along one of the finest beaches on the Southern coast of the island. Check in to the beach hotel on arrival. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 13: Colombo
    Drive: Approximately 3 hours (125 km)
    After breakfast spend the first half of the day at leisure. By noon check out of the hotel. Transfer to Colombo, the commercial capital of the country. Check in to Galleface Hotel. Destination: City Tour in Colombo Drive: Once you have rested, commence a city tour in Colombo. Drive through the commercial and city centre area known as the “Fort” and Pettah, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century where grand colonial era buildings stand alongside modern office structures. Drive past the Town hall, the Independence Square, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit the Gangarama Buddhist temple and a Hindu Kovil to experience the diversity of religion, ethnicity and customs of the people. Alternatively you may indulge in some shopping. Return to the hotel.

    Day 14: Airport
    Drive: Approximately 1 hour (35 km)
    Now that you are at the end of your journey with us, after breakfast your chauffeur will comfortably take you to the international airport in time for your departure flight.
